Jessica Dunne’s work will be featured in “By Invitation Only: Revealing the Landscape” at St. Mary’s College Museum of Art, Moraga, CA. The exhibition marks the college’s 24th annual landscape show.
Jessica’s urban scenes have a cool, gritty beauty. The things she paints: buildings, electrical wires, cars reference human beings and somehow makes their absence conspicuous and unsettling. Like Hopper before her, Dunne deftly conveys feelings of longing, nostalgia and unease through inanimate objects.
There will be an opening reception: Sunday, August 10, 2-4:30 pm where the artists will speak about their work. Through September 21. http://www.jessicadunne.
