VCCA is supported through the partnership of the artists it serves and the donors who are committed to advancing creative work. We depend on accepted applicants to help offset the cost of their residencies to the best of their ability.
Financial Information
Mt. San Angelo
VCCA offers a number of fully-funded residencies and is working to build an endowment large enough to sustain free residencies for all. Until we reach that goal, VCCA relies on residency payments from artists to cover costs.
Accepted artists who do not receive fully-funded fellowships are asked to pay $75 per day (one third the actual cost; VCCA’s Annual Fund covers the other half). Those who are not able to pay $75 per day may request financial assistance when applying.
Artists are accepted to VCCA based on the quality of their work and not on their ability to pay. VCCA distributes a generous amount of financial aid every year. If you are accepted and cannot pay at least $75 per day, VCCA will work with you in good faith to be sure you can come.

Application Fee Waivers
VCCA charges a $30 application fee to help offset our administrative costs of processing applications (e.g. SlideRoom licensing and submissions fees, staff hours, etc.). We understand this cost can be prohibitive to some prospective applicants, and we never want our application fee to prevent anyone from seeking a residency or fellowship opportunity with VCCA.
Please email vcca@vcca.com in advance of your application deadline if you need to arrange an application fee waiver.
