Manufactured Rarities, at the Paul Mellon Arts Center, Choate Rosemary Hall (Wallingford, CT) features recent work by Blinn Jacobs (Branford, CT) together with Will Lustenader (New Haven, CT).
Blinn’s elegant multimedia works have a classic geometric minimalism, but her juxtapositions of bright colors and use of repetition and materials like cheap dime store ribbon adds a lightness of being that tempers their austere formality adding a warmth to an aesthetic often perceived of as cool.
Blinn recently presented a site-specific ribbon installation at the 2014 Dublin Biennial in June. She completed her sixth VCCA residency in May.  Opening Reception: Friday, September 12, 5:30–7:30 PM. Through October 27. www.blinnjacobs.com
